This Refund Policy applies to all transactions conducted through BookToCash ("we," "our," or "us"), accessible via our website at https://booktocash.com/ and our mobile application. By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
1. No Refunds or Returns
BookToCash operates as a book buyback service. This means that customers sell books to us, rather than purchasing products. As such, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges for books sent to us.
2. Book Condition and Rejection of Items
To ensure a fair and consistent evaluation process, all books must meet the BookToCash Book Condition Guide as outlined on our website. If a book does not meet the required standards, we reserve the right to reject it.
2.1 Criteria for Book Rejection
A book may be rejected if it is damaged, excessively worn, or contains missing pages. It has excessive highlighting, writing, or annotations that significantly reduce its resale value. It is a counterfeit copy or an international edition that does not match the ISBN we quoted. It does not match the ISBN or edition submitted during the initial valuation. It is reported as stolen or counterfeit by publishers, distributors, or legal authorities.
2.2 Disposal of Rejected Books
If a book does not meet our quality standards and is rejected, we will not return the book to the sender. Instead, we will responsibly dispose of the book in accordance with our sustainability practices. We may recycle or donate the book if possible. Once a book is rejected, it will be responsibly disposed of. Customers cannot request its return, even if they cover shipping costs.
3. Payment Process and Cancellations
Once we receive and approve your books, payment will be issued via your selected payment method such as PayPal, bank transfer, or store credit. Approved payments will be processed within 5-7 business days of receiving and verifying books. If a book is rejected, no payment will be made for that item. Orders cannot be cancelled once books have been shipped and received at our facility.
4. Disputes and Appeals
If you believe that a book was rejected in error, you may contact our support team within 7 days of the rejection notice. Provide clear photos and proof of the book’s condition prior to shipment. All disputes will be reviewed within 10 business days of receiving supporting documentation. While we review disputes in good faith, our evaluation is final and binding.
Dispute Review Timeline for Refunds
Users who believe that their book was incorrectly rejected must file a dispute within 7 days of receiving the rejection notification. Disputes should be sent to contact@booktocash.com with the subject line “Dispute Request” and must include:
BookToCash will review disputes within 10 business days of receiving the request. Users will be notified of the final decision via email. All dispute decisions are final, and there is no further appeal process.
User Responsibility for Shipping Costs
BookToCash does not reimburse shipping costs for books that do not meet our acceptance criteria. Customers are responsible for all shipping expenses incurred when sending books to us.
6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Refund Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Country/State], without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to this Refund Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [Country/State].
